That’s right, only 10 more sleeps until Connor and I transform into snowbirds and fly off to Florida for a bit of R and R with Grandma and Grandpa. Not really sure how much rest and relaxation we’ll actually get considering the fact that they never sit still for more than two minutes, but dammit, we’re sure going to try.

A little while ago I wrote a post at 2greenthumbsup about a special garden specimen. There are some pretty great pictures included in that post if anyone would like to take a look.

It seems like only yesterday that I was bringing my little bundle of joy home from the hospital. And now he’s four! Time can really get away on you if you’re not careful. That’s why it’s so important to capture as many moments as possible. For your viewing pleasure, I captured some special shots of Connor’s 4th birthday party at Uncle D & Aunt J’s house.

Leading up to Christmas 2007 it was hard to determine whether Connor was more excited about Christmas or his birthday which would follow shortly after. Connor and I had lots of fun decorating our big inside tree. There are inside Christmas trees and outside Christmas trees, you know! As a special treat, I gave him his own small tree to decorate too.

Decorating his small Christmas tree.

His finished product - a beautiful job!

Receiving a card from Grandma and Grandpa was a highlight of the holiday season. Like most kids, Connor loves to get mail.

Mail for Connor

Over the holidays we did a little winter camping (on the living room floor).

Camping In

Of course opening Christmas presents was the main event. Santa Claus was very generous and Connor was the very happy recipient of a variety of new guys and an assortment of Thomas the Tank Engine necessities.

And more presents!

I love this little grin!

My present from Connor had a beautiful card attached to it.

Look at that wonderful printing!A hand tracing inside.

Later that evening we built our biggest Thomas track ever and tried out all of the new components.

Putting it all to good use.

We’ve had many different track configurations since, but this one still holds the record for being the largest. Sometimes Cranky needs fixing with a little tape.

Connor fixed it with tape.

One day we went to visit Kent and Julie Hamilton to try a little skating on their homemade ice rink. It wasn’t long before ice skating turned into snowmobiling.

Connor and Laci road on the ‘blue snowmobile’ and Bryce drove the red one.

Laci go tired of holding on, so Connor went solo.

All in all we had a good Christmas. Each year as Connor gets older it becomes more and more exciting.

Sad, but true, I haven’t had much opportunity to update this blog lately. Please allow me to remedy that situation.

Here’s are some Christmas pictures taken at Aunt J and Uncle D’s. Roll your cursor over each picture for a title or description.

As you can see, there are two not-so-little fluffballs showing up in the occasional picture. They arrived at D & J’s about a week before Christmas. Ariel and Dante are Mini Australian Shepherds – brother and sister – that now belong to a brother and sister. Interestingly, the personalities of the puppies match the personalities of their new owners. They are too cute!
