That’s right, only 10 more sleeps until Connor and I transform into snowbirds and fly off to Florida for a bit of R and R with Grandma and Grandpa. Not really sure how much rest and relaxation we’ll actually get considering the fact that they never sit still for more than two minutes, but dammit, we’re sure going to try.

Leading up to Christmas 2007 it was hard to determine whether Connor was more excited about Christmas or his birthday which would follow shortly after. Connor and I had lots of fun decorating our big inside tree. There are inside Christmas trees and outside Christmas trees, you know! As a special treat, I gave him his own small tree to decorate too.

Receiving a card from Grandma and Grandpa was a highlight of the holiday season. Like most kids, Connor loves to get mail.

Over the holidays we did a little winter camping (on the living room floor).

Of course opening Christmas presents was the main event. Santa Claus was very generous and Connor was the very happy recipient of a variety of new guys and an assortment of Thomas the Tank Engine necessities.

Later that evening we built our biggest Thomas track ever and tried out all of the new components.

We’ve had many different track configurations since, but this one still holds the record for being the largest. Sometimes Cranky needs fixing with a little tape.

One day we went to visit Kent and Julie Hamilton to try a little skating on their homemade ice rink. It wasn’t long before ice skating turned into snowmobiling.

Laci go tired of holding on, so Connor went solo.

All in all we had a good Christmas. Each year as Connor gets older it becomes more and more exciting.
